Abstract

Kartasura-Boyolali road is the main artery connecting Semarang and Surakarta. The increase in traffic volume on this road, due to the presence of toll booths, affects road performance. This study evaluated the changes in traffic volume, capacity, degree of saturation, and level of service after the construction of the toll road, using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI). The survey was conducted on weekdays and holidays, showing that the highest traffic volume occurred in the Boyolali-Kartasura direction in the morning peak hour with 2811.1 smp/hr, while the road capacity was 3648 smp/hr. The degree of saturation reached 0.77 in the morning peak hour, with the level of service at Level C, indicating congestion and reduced vehicle speeds. These findings highlight the need for measures to reduce congestion and improve traffic efficiency.
