Abstract

ANNA movie is a movie with action, thriller, espionage genres. The research in the ANNA film aims to how the film media provides an overview of the main female character in the ANNA film, Anna Poliatova is the main character in the film. The method used in this research is qualitative with data collection techniques through documentation - documentation of scenes related to the representation of women. This research analyzes with Roland Barthes' semiotic theory which explains about denotation, connotation, and myth. The data in this study were validated using triangulation techniques. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the representation of women contained in the ANNA film. The results showed that ANNA film represents women in the form of female domination, assertiveness, and courage through the scenes shown in the film.
