Abstract
The Jambi City Education Office is currently running the Equalization and Expansion of Access to Education program with the existence of this program has efforts which are able to provide a sense of justice for education services for all children regardless of background and conditions faced by the Equalization and Expansion of Access to Education program, especially at the SMA / MA and SMK levels due to the high number of vulnerable dropouts. The movement of vulnerable students so that they do not drop out of school is a form of commitment from the Jambi Disdik to expand access and learning opportunities for students. The number of high school / MA and SMK dropouts in Jambi as of January 2022 was 203 students out of 76,973 students or 0.26%. Research objectives include 1). Analyzing the distribution pattern of SMA/MA and SMK in Jambi City, and 2). Analyzing the reach of SMA/MA and SMK to settlements in Jambi City. This research uses secondary data analysis methods, namely data on the name of school facilities, coordinate points of educational facilities and shapefiles of settlements in Jambi City (Ministry of Education of Jambi City, 2023) using data overlay techniques, data analysis methods using Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) and buffering. The results showed that (1) the distribution pattern of SMA / MA and SMK with a total of 99 school units is divided into SMA 45 school units, SMK 34 school units and MA 20 school units which are evenly distributed (Dispersed). The largest number of school facilities is in Paal Merah Sub-district with 15 school units consisting of SMA/MA and SMK. SMA/MA and SMK facilities are evenly distributed in settlements and main road networks, making it easier for the community to access school facilities. (2) Adding school facilities in Jambi City is currently not required to add school facility units, considering that it is very sufficient and covers 99.47% of the area in Jambi City. Kecamatan Paal Merah is the highest percentage area among other areas.
