Abstract

The current environmental crisis is one of the main challenges being faced, because environmental pollution has become a global issue that affects all creatures on Earth. Although the majority of Indonesians express concern about climate change, their level of knowledge about this is still low. The environment is a place for living creatures to survive and interact, but a lack of understanding of the dangers of the environmental crisis in the Sukoharjo area causes arbitrary behavior towards the surrounding environment. Data from BPS shows an increase in solid waste from year to year, with the highest figure occurring in Grogol sub-district. To overcome this environmental crisis, it is important to increase understanding of environmental sustainability through literacy and direct experience. Therefore, designing the Environmental Care Edu-park Solo Baru using a Biophilic Architectural Approach is expected to increase public awareness of the surrounding environment. Through this approach, educational tourism can be a means of introducing environmental issues as a whole and motivating people to care more about the environment.
