Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of using Instagram social media on the @peduliskizofrenia account related to mental health problems on adolescent attitudes. The formulation of the research problem is how the influence of media exposure from the Indonesian Schizophrenia Care Community related to mental health problems on adolescent attitudes on Instagram. The theory used in this research is S-O-R Theory. This research is Explanatory Quantitative research which aims to explain the generalization of a sample to the population, or to describe the relationship, variation, and influence of one variable on another. Data collection is done by distributing questionnaires in the form of GoogleForm online. The population of this study is active Instagram followers @peduliskizofrenia. The research sample was taken with Purposive Sampling technique. The results showed the influence of media exposure to the Instagram account @peduliskizofrenia related to mental health problems on adolescent attitudes. With the results of the coefficient of determination test which shows the amount of influence of 52.3%. The high magnitude of the frequency indicator on the media exposure variable and the cognitive indicator on the attitude variable shows that the media exposure of @peduliskizofrenia has an effect on the understanding and awareness level of respondents regarding mental health problems.
