Abstract

Setupatok Village located in Cirebon Regency has goals for rural self-sufficiency in food, energy, and information. Currently, most rural communities are employed in the trading, industry, and livestock sectors and others engage in service-oriented businesses. Due to the occupational transition, the current rural situation could not overcome the existing challenges. This also increases the number of residents who have left the formal education without acquiring specific skills, they often went for any available job with low wages. Besides, a nonprofit organization was established to enhance the rural community's capacities beyond formal education through community empowerment programs through an agricultural approach. They considered this as the most viable to achieve self-sufficiency in food and energy. To optimize the implementation of these programs, a Rural Community Development Center was designed. This serves as a gathering place for the public, learning, doing projects, and others. The goals are to break the cycle of Setupatok village issues by increasing the community's capability in agriculture, which will impact food sufficiency and income, expand education opportunities, and enable residents to support themselves. The research method included data collection through literature studies, field identification, and precedent studies. Data reduction and the formulation of recommendations followed. The agricultural facilities at the Setupatok Rural Community Development Center are expected to support community capacity-building activities. Additionally, management and external facilities are anticipated to enhance its sustainability. In its development, the design concept focuses on functional aspects and considers local ecological conditions.
