Abstract

Electricity is an essential energy source for humans today. Electricity bills depend on the amount of electrical energy used by the consumer. Therefore, I plan to create a device that can efficiently measure, monitor, and control electricity usage anytime and anywhere. The device will use the PZEM-004t v30 to read the electrical energy consumed and the ESP32 microcontroller to send the data to a Firebase database. This data can then be accessed through an IoT interface on an Android application built using the Kodular platform. The device will also feature an LCD I2C display to show the wattage usage of electronic appliances. The testing of the device is divided into four parts: voltage testing with an error of 0.47, current testing with an error of 0.10, power testing with an error of 3.10, and load testing that matches readings with calibrated measuring instruments. Additionally, direct testing is performed where the device is tested against the same measuring tools. The device operates by reading the electricity usage over a day and sending this data to Firebase for record-keeping. The application then calculates the electricity usage over a month. The application features include daily usage monitoring, remote control of electricity supply, daily electricity usage recording, monthly electricity usage calculation, monthly bill estimation, and payment via e-commerce.
