Abstract

Representation is to connect, explain, and record anything that is seen, experienced, imagined, or felt in physical form. Women in horror films are something that is very famous. Indirectly, women's independence is limited by the way women's sensuality and bodies are treated in horror films. In this research, the method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The collection technique uses documentation techniques consisting of the film "The Female Followers of the Devil" and literature research. All data collection must be carried out carefully and thoroughly to obtain data that is valid and appropriate to the research. The complete data obtained will then be analyzed using relevant theory, namely Roland Barthes' semiotics. The results of this research show that there are three characteristics of women in the film Para Betina Followers Devil, namely: being cruel, loving, and tough. The depiction of women in this film is depicted as a dominant figure who has a strong nature, which is different from the depiction of women in horror films in previous years.
