Abstract
Based on the results of interviews with students at SMPN 2 Blora Regency on January 5 2024, it shows that students' learning motivation is very low, because the Islamic Education and Character Education teachers at this school teach only using the lecture method and only give assignments. This resulted in the student's learning motivation at SMPN 2 Blora Regency decreasing. Likewise, based on the evaluation results of student learning achievement in the daily tests for class 8 for the 2023/2024 school year in PAI and Characteristics subjects, it is also low. This is indicated by an average class score of 60, with the highest score being 85 and the lowest score being 45 with a Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) of 75. This research aims: (1) To determine the effect of audio-visual media in increasing learning motivation in PAI and Budi Pekert subjects at SMPN 2 Blora Regency; (2) To determine the influence of audio-visual media in improving student learning achievement in Islamic Education and Character subjects at SMPN 2 Blora Regency; (3) To determine the effectiveness of using audio-visual media on learning motivation and student achievement in Islamic Education and Character subjects at SMPN 2 Blora Regency. This type of research is combination research or (Mixed Method), namely a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. This form of research is a form of sequential research, because it uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) and Quasi Experiment. In Class Action Research, the subject of the research was class 8 A with a total of 32 students. Meanwhile, in the Quasi Experimental research, the population was 64 students. The experimental group sample for class 8 J consisted of 32 students and the control group sample for class 8 I consisted of 32 students. Data collection techniques in PTK research use observation sheets. Meanwhile, Quasi Experimental research data collection techniques are collected through tests. Data processing techniques in PTK research with percentages. Meanwhile, data processing techniques in quasi-experimental research with t. Test. The results of the PTK research showed that learning motivation in cycle I was 1.80, then increased in cycle II with a value of 2.82 and increased again in cycle III with a value of 3.65. The results in Quasi-Experimental research from the t-test calculation results at a significance level of 95% of the degrees of freedom (db) = n1 + n2 = 31+ 30 = 61-2 = 59 are seen in the ttable, namely 2.002, obtained tcount = 5.441. Because tcount>ttable, the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This means that there is a difference in the learning achievement of students taught using audio-visual media with students taught conventionally. The conclusions of this research are: (1) That audio-visual media has a significant effect in increasing students' learning motivation in Islamic Education and Character subjects at SMPN 2 Blora Regency; (2) That audio-visual media has a significant effect in increasing student learning achievement in Islamic Education and Character subjects at SMPN 2 Blora Regency; (3) That audio visual media is effective in increasing learning motivation and learning achievement
