Abstract

Sports are highly favored by society as they contribute to physical health and fitness. Sports aim to develop aspects of health, physical fitness, critical thinking skills, emotional stability, social skills, reasoning, and moral actions through physical activities and sports. Various sports branches in Indonesia, such as swimming, volleyball, futsal, badminton, and others, are well-known. Indonesia's notablesports achievements globally include badminton. Therefore, as Indonesian citizens, we must maintain the quality and reputation of these achievements to prevent degradation. Interest and talent in Badminton Sports (MBO) in the Physical Education Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta were established in 2017 and have gained increasing popularity. MBO Badminton activities take place at GOR Campus 2, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This research aims to determine the level of backhand overhead lob skills among students participating in MBO badminton. This descriptive research employed survey methods with data collection techniques using tests and measurements. Research findings indicate that the backhand overhead lob skills of MBO Badminton students are categorized as sufficient. Results from 20 samples were descriptively analyzed, revealing "very poor" in 10.00% (2 individuals), "poor" in 15.00% (3 individuals), "moderate" in 50.00% (10 individuals), "good" in 25.00% (5 individuals), and "very good" in 0% (0 individuals).
