Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) Explain the strength of discipline character generated by Paskibra extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Simo Boyolali; and 2) Explain the strength of the character of love for the country produced by Paskibra extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Simo Boyolali. This research is a descriptive qualitative research that uses data collection techniques of observation, interview, and documentation. This research used two types of triangulation: triangulation of data sources and triangulation of data collection techniques. For data analysis, an interactive model was used. The results showed that 1) Paskibra extracurricular activities improve the character of discipline, namely by familiarizing Paskibra members to start and finish training on time, practicing regularly every Tuesday and Friday, obeying and complying with regulations, and completing tasks on time. 2) Increasing the spirit of patriotism through Paskibra's extracurricular activities, for example by teaching Paskibra members to attend ceremonies every Monday, Heroes' Day, or Independence Proclamation Day, sing the Indonesia Raya song, use the Indonesian language, and respect differences and understand the diversity of Indonesia.
