Abstract
This research aims to analyze the effect of varying nozzle diameters of 1.3 mm, 1.5 mm, and 1.7 mm on the process of cutting ST 37 steel metal with a CNC plasma cutting machine. In the research, testing will be carried out using a MITUTOYO digital caliper as a tool for measuring the width of the kerf and the height of the burrs produced after the cutting process with a CNC plasma cutting machine. The method used in this research is experimental. Kerf width measurement results show that the nozzle diameter variation of 1.7 mm has the widest kerf width results, while the nozzle diameter variation of 1.3 mm has the narrowest kerf width results. The resulting burrs (crust) measurement results show that the 1.7 mm nozzle diameter variation has the highest results, while the 1.3 mm nozzle diameter variation has the lowest burrs compared to the other variations.
