Abstract

This research investigates the study of changes in population conditions around Semen Gresik Rembang Company which has an influence on people's lives, changes in the socio-economic conditions of the community, as well as the impact on the environment. The existence of Semen Gresik Rembang Company, which was established in the Ring 1 area, which consists of (Tegaldowo, Timbrangan, Pasucen, Kajar and Kadiwono villages), has a direct impact on the factory operations, both positive and negative impacts. Method Non-Probability Samplingused in conducting this research by calculating the number of samples with a certain percentage of 10% or 15% taking into account the population size. The data collection method uses primary and secondary data to carry out direct field observations using quantitative descriptive analysis which aims to collect information on the results of the questionnaire. The aim of this research is to identify the socio-economic conditions of the community, and analyze the socio�economic changes in the community before and after the founding of Semen Gresik Rembang Company. The results of this research can provide changes in the conditions of the population around Ring 1 which will absorb more workers, so that high wage levels can improve people's lifestyles from before. These changes can be seen from the increasing monthly family income so that it can meet the secondary and tertiary needs of the community. Semen Gresik Rembang Company also has a social responsibility party or also known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is tasked with providing assistance to the Ring 1 community of Rembang Regency. Apart from that, with the existence of Semen Gresik Rembang Company cement also affects environmental conditions. Unbalanced use of environmental resources can cause negative impacts in the Ring 1 area, thereby causing danger to the environment if not managed properly and correctly.
