Abstract

The need for metal materials in various industries is increasing. Metal materials that are needed by industry must have good mechanical properties. While the metal materials available today do not fully have the desired characteristics. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of scanning electrom microscopy (SEM) aluminum 6063 after treatment using carbon decorated nickel-chrome particles. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) tests are performed using ASTM E986 standard. The results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests in stage 1 and hold 2 showed an increase in carbon content values and a decrease in aluminum content values in all test areas, while nickel and chrome content values tended to remain or stable. The highest Nickel content was found in the stage 2 specimen after the upper area treatment after etching with a weight of 0.206%, while the lowest densest Nickel content in the side area stage 1 specimen after etching with a weight of 0.041%. The highest Chrome content was found in stage 2 specimens after upper area treatment after etching weighing 0.155%, while the lowest Chrome content was found in stage 1 specimens of side area after etching weighing 0.000% or undetected.
