Abstract

Livestock farming is a business practiced by many Indonesians. One of the farms that is easily and widely run by Indonesians is chicken breeding. Chicken is a food item that is widely grown for daily food needs. The large number of chicken farms also poses many obstacles that breeders experience, including the lack of efficient nutrition. Many breeders still feed manually, so a lot of human resources are needed every day. A technology is needed that can build an IoT (Internet of Things) based automatic chicken feeding system that uses internet and solar energy as a medium for remote control using a microcontroller. This research aims to create a design system using Arduino as a microcontroller with IoT Telegram control, design an automatic design system and conduct tool testing to test the feasibility and stability of the created system. The composition of components required to make automatic chicken feed includes an RTC (Real Time Clock) sensor that functions as a time reference, time settings and all chicken feeding schedules. Servo motors are used to open the container door or partition between feed source and feed container. ESP 32 is a control center or data processor and also plays a role in issuing commands to components or sensors and accessing telegrams. The 16x2 LCD screen displays conditions or updates occurring on the feed, such as the RTC's digital clock and successful feeding. In this study, we obtained comparison results of the current when the tool was not moving and when it was working, especially when the servo motor was moved. When the device is on standby, the current varies between 0.10-0.13 Amps, while when the device is working, the current is between 0.15-0.22 Amps and the amount of food given in one feeding is 1 kg, then the effective number of chickens kept is that 10 adult chickens each consume approximately 100 grams of food per time.
