Abstract

Students who frequently procrastinate academically often experience failures in their academic fields. Academic procrastination is an individual's behavior that tends to delay time to work or complete a task so that it can result in an individual becoming lazy and often experiencing academic failure. This research aims to test the relationship between hardness and religiousness with academic procrastination. This research is quantitative correlational research. The study was conducted on a sample of 350 students of Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta Prodi students in Geography, Dentistry, Nutrition Health Sciences and Communication Sciences. In this study, the sampling technique used is cluster random samplings. The data analysis method used in this study uses double linear regression. The results of the research show that there is a very significant relationship between hardness and religiousness with the procrastination of academic students of UMS, so the major hypothesis is acceptable. Hardiness (X1) has a very significant negative relationship with academic procrastination and religiousness (X2) has a significant negative link with academical procrestination. The effective contribution of such variables hardness had a greater influence (11.7%) than religiousness (6.93%) on academic procrastination.
