Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate the impact of semantic content updates and schema markup implementation on the SEO performance of VisitKemuning.com. Utilizing data from Google Search Console from August 8, 2022, to December 31, 2023, the research began with a baseline observation of SEO performance, which showed a stagnant trend. The initial stagnant performance, characterized by relatively low impressions and clicks, changed after the Google Core Update in March 2023, initially having a negative impact. In response to this decline, the study then focused on implementing updates to semantic content and schema markup. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Kendall and Mann-Whitney U tests to assess the significance of the performance changes. The results revealed that, following the implementation of these strategies, there was a significant increase in impressions by 401.2% and clicks by 518.6%. These findings suggest that effectively conducted strategies of semantic content renewal and schema markup can recover and enhance SEO performance following significant updates from Google. This study provides valuable insights for website owners and SEO practitioners about adapting content strategies and utilizing schema markup to improve search engine visibility.
