Abstract

Islamic Religious Education is an activity carried out in a planned manner to prepare students who will later practice the teachings of the Islamic religion. For this reason, the implementation of education is a determinant of where a person will live his life. With education, it is hoped that a person will be able to become a human being who can create renewal and improvements. In learning Islamic religious education, many problems are found in learning religious education. This problem is found from several factors, including teachers, students, facilities and infrastructure, as well as the environment surrounding Islamic religious education institutions or learning.The aim of this research is to describe the problems of learning Islamic religious education at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 North Klaten, as well as the efforts made by SMK Muhammadiyah 1 North Klaten to overcome the problems of learning Islamic religious education. The type of method used is a qualitative method. using a field research approach. Data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques are by means of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of the research show that the problems of learning Islamic Religious Education at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 North Klaten include: low students' ability to read the Al-Qu’an, a curriculum that is constantly changing, an environment around the school that is less supportive, and teaching methods that are monotonous and less varied. Teachers' efforts to overcome this problem include improving students' ability to read the Al-Quran, attending seminars on implementing the existing curriculum, implementing Information Technology training programs, and building good cooperation with students' parents.
