Abstract

Background: Futsal is a sport characterized by high intensity gameplay, team competition and demands a high level of physical condition. Futsal is an indoor soccer game played with teams of five people. There are many types of injuries when playing futsal which can result in players having difficulty continuing the game or being replaced by substitute players. One aspect that must be considered is the explosive power of the leg muscles and speed which will affect performance when playing futsal. Methode: thisl study usedl a lcross-sectionall study approachl with al sample ofl 40 people in the IKPMR futsal community during September 20, 2023-21 March 2024. Results: the results of the research and SPSS calculations above the Spearman's rho test were obtained (p= 0.000) which means H0 was rejected So there is a relationship between leg muscle explosive power and running speed in futsal players because (p<0.05). The results of the correlation coefficient value r = -.874 indicate a very strong level of relationship.). Conclusion: there is a relationship between leg muscle explosive power and running speed in futsal players. The level of relationship is very strong.
