Abstract
Culture shock is a condition experienced by someone when occupying a new area and different from their area of origin. This condition certainly causes a person to feel anxious and uncomfortable when in a new environment. With this, support from parents is needed to make the adaptation process easier and not experience excessive anxiety so that they can control this anxiety well. This research uses quantitative methods with an explanatory approach. The results of the research show that there is a positive correlation or relationship between culture shock and parental communication patterns, with the results of the correlation analysis between the culture shock variable and parental communication patterns showing a positive correlation of 0.075 or 7.5%.
