Abstract

Criminal sanctions are regulations to determine actions in the form of punishment given. A person who is faced with a decision regarding the length of their prison term will have their psychological well-being shaken, with the image of life in prison being harsh and full of pressure, making correctional inmates very vulnerable to experiencing problems with their psychological well-being. The aim of this research is to find out how psychological well-being is described in Purwodadi class II B prison. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive analysis. The subjects in this study consisted of 3 correctional inmates from Purwodadi Prison. The researcher's data collection process used semi-structured interviews. The data analysis process in this research uses qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this research are that the three respondents have different problems in dealing with their new life. These three respondents have different attitudes. The three respondents tried to accept the current situation. Based on this, it can be concluded that each person's psychological well-being is different, depending on how a person responds to something they are facing. The implications of this research are to improve the psychological well-being of correctional inmates so that they remain enthusiastic in living their lives.
