Abstract
Land use changes occurred in Polanharjo District. The increase in population and changes in land use from agricultural land to water tourism attractions have an impact on vegetation density in Polanhajo District which will also affect the distribution of land surface temperatures in the area. The aim of this research is to analyze changes in vegetation density based on classification results with NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) in Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency in 2015 and 2023; Analyzing the distribution of land surface temperatures based on the results of classification with LST (Land Surface Temperature) in Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency in 2015 and 2023; Analyzing the relationship between vegetation density and land surface temperature distribution in Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency in 2015 and 2023. The methods used are NDVI, LST and Pearson product moment correlation using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS image data. The research results show that the distribution of vegetation density in Polanharjo District is classified into 5 density classes, namely non-vegetation, very low, low, medium and high. There was a change in vegetation density in Polanharjo District in 2015 and 2023, vegetation density in 2015 was dominated by high vegetation density. Meanwhile, 2023 will be dominated by medium vegetation density. The distribution of land surface temperatures in Polanharjo District is divided into 5 temperature classifications, namely 24 ⁰C – 25 ⁰C; 25 ⁰C – 26 ⁰C; 26 ⁰C – 27 ⁰C; 27 ⁰C – 28 ⁰C and 28 ⁰C – 30 ⁰C. There will be changes in temperature in Polanharjo District in 2015 and 2023, in 2015 the average temperature in Polanharjo District was 24 ⁰C – 25 ⁰C. Meanwhile, in 2023 the average temperature will be in the range of 25 ⁰C – 26 ⁰C. The 2015 Pearson product moment NDVI and LST correlation value obtained a value of -0.121. Meanwhile, the Pearson product moment NDVI and LST correlation value in 2023 obtained a value of -0.102. The relationship from the correlation results shows that they do not influence each other, that is, high and low vegetation density will not affect the land surface temperature in the area.
