Abstract

Media is a means of transfer from teachers to students so they can understand learning easily. There are 3 types of media, namely: audio media, visual media, and audio-visual media. Learning media can provide increased learning outcomes with the interest and interest of students. SMP Negeri 01 Selogiri is a school that provides the best facilities for students' comfort in studying. As in the school's mission which is to create active, creative, effective and enjoyable learning based on science and technology. The author formulated 3 problems in this research, namely, 1) how is the use of audio-visual media and students' interest in learning in PAI and Budi Pekerti subjects 2) what are the advantages of using audio-visual media in learning PAI and Budi Pekerti 3) what are the disadvantages of using audio media visuals in PAI and Character learning. This research aims to describe the use of audio-visual media in PAI subjects and character in the learning interest of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 01 Selogiri. The type of research used was qualitative with the research subjects being teachers and students of class VIII SMP Negeri 01 Selogiri. The data sources for this research are observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses the Miles and Huberman model of field data analysis, which includes data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The use of audio visual media in PAI and Character subjects in the learning interest of class VIII students, 1) The use of audio visual media makes it easier to understand the subjects 2) The use of audio visual media can increase students' interest in learning 3) The use of audio visual media can improve learning outcomes . The advantage applied to students is that students are more active in participating in learning. Then, the disadvantage of using audio visual media is that it takes time to show audio visual media.
