Abstract

Empty Container Handler is heavy equipment used to transport and move empty containers, because this tool usually has a low loading capacity, but has an important role in assisting in container work. In its operation it cannot be separated from damage, if the unit is damaged then loading and unloading operations cannot be carried out. Delays in loading and unloading containers will have fatal consequences, causing additional costs that are detrimental to the company, therefore it is important to carry out preventive maintenance on the Empty Container Handler unit. This maintenance aims to maintain the Empty Container Handler unit in optimal condition, to reduce the possibility of damage and to extend the useful life of the tool. During the implementation of preventive maintenance, it was found that the unit experienced a decline in performance. To overcome the decline in performance, performance tests were required to obtain results to carry out calculation analysis, so that appropriate action could be taken to overcome the decline in the performance of the hydraulic lifting system on the Kalmar DCU 80 Empty Container Handler.
