Abstract

Information Technology has developed so rapidly over time. This is marked by a change from a manual system to a computer system. Technological advances in the field of control include the Internet of Things (IoT) computer network technology which allows electronic equipment to be connected to the internet so that it can be controlled online via smartphone. Currently the activity of turning on and off electrical equipment such as lights still tends to be manual using switches. This makes it difficult for someone when doing activities outside the house for a long period of time to turn on and off the lights, especially the house fence lights which are a means of lighting at night and also as a sign that the house is being occupied by the owner. Based on these problems, researchers aim to apply Internet of Things (IoT) technology to house fence lights using the NodeMCU ESP8266 module, so that house fence lights can be controlled automatically by scheduling time via smartphone. The method in this research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model which has several stages such as Analysis, Data Collection, Design and Development, Design Validation, and Evaluation. After carrying out various tests, including testing the NodeMCU ESP8266 device connection, testing the Blynk application, testing time scheduling, and also testing network speed, the results showed that the series of devices could be controlled and complied with the predetermined scheduling time.
