Abstract

Parenting early childhood requires an understanding of the expression of tantrums because if not handled properly it will have a negative impact on the child's self-control. This study aims to examine the verses of the Qur'an that contain the characteristics of tantrums and in handling tantrum children. This research is an interpretative descriptive research that describes tantrums that are not found in the Qur'an but based on verses that contain the characteristics of tantrums in the Qur'an, then describes the verses of the Qur'an that discuss educating children in handling tantrums. The results of the analysis show that there are 3 characteristics of tantrums in the Qur'an, namely excessive crying, facial expressions with red blushes due to overflowing anger and sadness, the act of biting fingers as a way for children to hurt themselves, and also throwing and grabbing others because they cannot control themselves, and handling tantrums, namely parents need to be fair because injustice can cause tantrums because children do not feel equally cared for in behavior or words, parents need to hold back anger so that children do not aggravate their tantrum situation, communicate well with children gently.
