Abstract

According to data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), the open unemployment rate in August 2022 reached 5.86% and the Indonesian entrepreneurship ratio was at a low of 3.18%. One attempt to reduce the unemployability rate was to open up jobs through the birth of the new entrepreneur. Wirausaha Merdeka Program is a program focused on the development of students through the improvement of entrepreneurial competence. There are several stages in the Wirausaha Merdeka Program registration and socialization, workshops, internships, acceleration of startups, pitching, and expo. The results obtained by students are increased business skills, the formation of entrepreneurial mentality, and increased interest in entrepreneurship. Through the program, students may develop a business that is already formed so that they are no longer dependent to find job as an employee in the future. These young entrepreneurs can also become an employer for those in productive-age communities. Thus, the more young entrepreneurs are created from this program, the better Indonesia is in getting the demographic bonus.
