Abstract
Composite resin is a material that can repair the tooth structure. Composite resins with fluorine content were developed to improve the success of restoration by preventing the occurrence of secondary caries. One of the advantages of fluorious composite resin is that it has two bonds, namely micromechanical bonds then followed by chemical bonds, in contrast to ordinary composite resins that only produce micromechanical bonds. The number of bonds produced by the composite resin will affect its mechanical strength in the form of tensile strength. This research aims to be the difference in the tensile strength of fluorious and non-fluorous composite resins. This research method is an experimental laboratory with 32 samples of premolar teeth 1 and 2 upper jaws that have been prepared with a diameter of 4mm and into 2 mm. Samples are divided into two groups, group A: fluorine composite resin (Tetric N-Ceram packable) and group B non-fluorine composite resin (Herculite Precis packable). The sample is soaked using artificial saliva water pH 6.7 and inserted into the incubator at 37oC for 1 day. The sample is then tested for tensile strength using a universal testing machine at a speed of 0.5mm/minute until the density is released from the teeth. The results of the study were analyzed using the Independent T-test. The results of the analysis showed significant differences between the two groups (P<0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant difference in tensile strength between fluorious and non-fluorous composite resins
