Abstract

This research was motivated by the poor morals of students at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak. This is because there are still many students who violate school rules, are late for lessons, are impolite to older teachers, speak harshly, do not participate in congregational prayers at the mosque and so on. This makes it a challenge for the Ngemplak 1 Public High School to develop the morals of its students. Therefore, a religious program was formed which aims to develop student morals in order to create students with noble character. This research aims to describe efforts to develop morals through religious programs and obstacles in efforts to develop morals through religious programs. This research is field research. The type of research used is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and document study. The data validity technique used by researchers is triangulation of sources and techniques. Then, the data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that efforts to develop morals through religious programs at SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak are by implementing several religious programs including the Dhuhr and Asr prayers in congregation, Dhuha prayers, religious Fridays, Al-Qur'an mentoring and Commemoration Day. Great Islam (PHBI). The obstacles faced by schools in this moral development effort are a lack of awareness from students and limited supervision from the school.
