Abstract
This research discusses errors in the use of prepositions in the thesis essays of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat. The formulation of the problem is: What are the errors in using prepositions in descriptive text essays for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat? What causes errors in using prepositions in descriptive text essays for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat? Then a discussion will be carried out regarding the findings. The aim of this research is to describe errors in the use of prepositions in the descriptive text essays of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat. Explaining the causes of errors in using prepositions in descriptive text essays for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative because this research analyzes data in the form of words, images, not numbers. Based on the results of research carried out by researchers, researchers found 54 descriptive text data for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat. This essay was studied by producing several errors in the prepositions in and to. In each class VII student's descriptive text essay, there are preposition errors in the essay. The research results are described in accordance with the problem formulation and research objectives. The sequence of explanations starts from errors in the use of prepositions in the descriptive text essays of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat. Then it continues with the causes of errors in the use of prepositions in the descriptive texts of class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Kebakramat.
