Abstract
This research analyzes the representation of racism in the video game entitled Bioshock: Infinite. This research focuses on how individual and institutional racism plays out in the game. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach by applying Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis where signs are divided into denotation, connotation and myth to reveal the meaning contained in Bioshock: Infinite. The research results show that Bioshock: Infinite displays individual forms of racism through the behavior and words of the residents of the city of Columbia, but institutional racism appears more often with racial inequality carried out by the Columbia city government through their rules and actions.
