Abstract
Background: Types of activities that can benefit physical and mental health include performance sports and recreation. During these sports activities, injuries can occur, either due to falls or impacts. None other than sports injuries that occur are lower extremity injuries. One of the disorders that is often experienced during sports with the prevalence of joint disease in Indonesia is that injuries to the lower extremities of the body have a higher prevalence, namely 67.9% and 32.7% for injuries to the lower extremities. Experiencing an injury can have a significant impact on a person's psychological state. However, in this case, human behavior gives the impression that pain can be interpreted in two ways, namely that someone may view pain as non-threatening so they will most likely continue carrying out daily activities. On the other hand, pain causes something more severe and results in kinesiophobia so that the body becomes more alert and seeks safety. Research aim: The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between knee pain and kinesiophobia when walking in sufferers of sports knee joint injuries. Research method: Research This quantitative approach uses a cross-sectional approach. This study used the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) questionnaire and the numerical rating scale (NRS). The sample consisted of thirty people. Research results: The results of this study using the Pearson Bivariate Correlation Test for the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia (TSK) with Pain Intensity in knee joint sports injury sufferers obtained a calculated r value or significant value of 0.918. Conclusion: Based on this research, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between pain intensity and kinesiophobia when walking in knee joint sports injuries with a correlation value of 0.918.
