Abstract

Mental disorders are one of the most serious health problems in the world. Mental disorders occur due to maladaptive responses to stressors, which cause changes in thinking, perception, behavior and emotions. Patients with mental disorders are unable to overcome their own problems, they need a family. Family is a bond of several people who provide mutual support. Family psychosocial problems affect the mental and social state of the family, and can affect health. This study aims to determine the psychosocial problems of families who have family members with mental disorders. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive qualitative research design. This research was conducted by going door to door in Kingkang Village. In this sampling using Purposive Sampling Technique. Data collection was carried out in August-September 2023. Qualitative data processing techniques in research are data reduction, data display and verification. The data analysis used is Thematic Analysis. The results of this study found 3 themes which are, psychological problems experienced by the patient's family, social problems experienced by the patient's family and the patient, and financial problems experienced by the patient's family.
