Abstract
The objectives of this research are as follows: a) to find out the legal protection regulated in Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence for victims of sexual violence; b) to find out the role of the community in protecting victims according to Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Criminal Acts of Sexual Violence. The type or research used by the author is descriptive. This research uses a normative doctrinal approach,which is a study of positive legal norms. The research result obtained are that legal protection directly refers to the existence of laws and regulations that are specifically designed to protect the rights, interest and security of individuals or groups. Indirect legal protection includes protection mechanisms that arise throught legal interpretation, general principles, and policies that support justice without being explicitly stipulated in law. Community participation is very important in protecting victims of criminal sexual violence. Community support and involment can create a safer environment, provide support for victims, and prevent incidents of sexual violence.
