Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the e-court system in modern justice at the Rembang Class II District Court, motivated by the enactment of PERMA Number 7 of 2022 regarding amendments to PERMA Number 1 of 2019 concerning electronic administration of cases and trials in court. The problems discussed are: 1. The effectiveness of the e-Court system in the proceedings at the Rembang Class II District Court. 2. Obstacles that occur during the resolution of civil cases using the e-Court system at the Rembang Class II District Court. This research method is normative-empirical so it can be analyzed into a report using legal interpretation. This research resulted in: 1. Settlement of civil cases via e-Court at the Rembang Class II District Court has been running in accordance with the issuance of PERMA Number 7 of 2022 which can be seen from the total number of civil cases resolved via e-Court from 2020 to December 2023 as many as 35 (0.060%) cases were successfully resolved using e-Court. 2. Obstacles or barriers to resolving civil cases by e-Court experienced by the Rembang District Court, namely: internet network problems in the e-Court system, lack of technological knowledge of the justice seeking community in carrying out the settlement of civil cases by e-Court, and lack of socialization provided Rembang District Court Class II to people seeking justice.
