Abstract
Making herbal toothpaste with the addition of green tea leaf extract (camellia sinenis) as the active ingredient in the formula and peppermint oil as a natural, low-calorie sssweetener which is useful for adding freshness to the teeth and mouth so that it is popular with the public. This research aims to create a herbal toothpaste formula that is safe for teeth and liked by the public. The research method uses different variable variations in the amount of green tea extract and peppermint essential oil as 2 factors, namely 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 ml for each preparation with 3 repetitions of the test. By determining the characteristics of the formula in the form of organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, spreadability tests, and pH tests. The toothpaste produced in this study had a spreadability of 9.2-9.8 cm and a pH of between 7.72-8.46. The four toothpaste formulas produced with green tea leaf extract and peppermint essential oil meet SNI 12-3524-1995 standards regarding toothpaste.
