Abstract

Fintech is a technological innovation in the field of digital finance that has developed rapidly. The speed and ease of access to financial technology can now be felt by all people with technological advances, thus encouraging digitalization in the financial sector. This study aims to estimate the factors that influence fintech valuation in six Southeast Asian countries in 2014-2021 using Fixed Effects Model (FEM) panel data regression. Partially, fintech investment other than from China, inflation, and GDP have a positive effect on fintech valuation, while fintech investment from China and the percentage of internet users do not affect fintech valuation. Based on this research, fintech companies are expected to attract foreign investor to accelerate their growth. The government is expected to implement policies to optimize the fintech sector to compete with and catch up with technology from other countries. In addition, the government is also expected to encourage accelerating the digitization process given the importance of technology in supporting economy activities in the current era.
