Abstract

The softening or annealing process is a heat treatment process to produce coarse but soft perlite by heating until austenized and slowly cooling in a furnace, which aims to improve the grain size and in some cases also improve the machining. ibility. The welding process is one of the material joining processes. The definition of the welding process refers to AWS (American Welding Society), where the welding process is the process of joining metal or non-metal which produces one unified part, by heating the material to be joined to a certain welding temperature, with or without pressing, and with or without filler metal. One of them is Manual Electric Arc Welding (Shield Metal Arc Welding). Hardness test is one of the mechanical properties of a material. The 2 hardness of a material must be known, especially for materials that will experience friction during use. The hardness test is the most effective test for testing the hardness of a material, because with this test we can easily get a picture of the mechanical properties of a material. Steel ST 37, the meaning of St itself is an abbreviation of Steel (steel). Meanwhile, the number 37 means the minimum limit for tensile strength is 37 km/mm2. Apart from that, as for its use, this steel can be used as nuts, bolts, screw threads and so on. Microstructural testing is a test of the structure of a material through magnification using a special metallographic microscope. By testing microstructure, we can observe the shape and size of metal crystals, metal damage due to deformation processes, heat treatment processes, and composition differences.
