Abstract

This research tries to explain the interpretation of fadhl contained in the book of commentary Mafatihul Ghaib, in the Al-Quran lafadz Fadhl is mentioned 77 times, three verses of which are the focus of discussion in this research, namely surah al jumuah verses 4,10 and al-Baqarah verse 64. One of the reasons behind this research is the lafadz al Fadhl and its derivations. Then the book of tafsir Mafatihul Ghaib by Fakhruddin Ar-Razi was chosen as the main source because it was felt that it had an objective and in-depth interpretation. Therefore, this discussion concerns the methods and styles in the book of interpretation of Mafatihul Ghaib as well as Fakhrudi Ar-Razi's interpretation of the Fadhl verses. This type of research is library research with an interpretive descriptive approach. Meanwhile, the analysis method in this research uses descriptive analysis carried out using content analysis. With this method and approach, three themes of discussion were found in the verses of the Koran with Fadhl's pronunciation. The conclusion obtained from this research is that the method of interpretation used in the interpretation of mafatihul ghaib is tahlili, while the style of interpretation is falsafi. Ar-Razi interpreted the meaning of fadhl as seeking Allah's sustenance, namely favors from Allah obtained by carrying out many activities or trade, but without abandoning his obligation as a Muslim to perform Friday prayers in congregation at the mosque. In the next meaning of Fadhl, Ar-Razi interpreted Islam, that all human beings on this earth have the right to receive Allah's Fadhl in the form of Islam. Because Allah will give His fadhl to whoever Allah wills. The next fadhl is a gift, one of the privileges of the people of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is that Allah gives grace in the form of leeway and giving warnings, waiting to realize the mistakes they have made, then repenting and returning to Allah.
