Abstract

This research is trying to describe the interpretation style of K.H. Maimoen Zubair which is contained in the book of tafseer Safinatu Kalla Saya'lamun fi Tafsir Syaikhina Maimun. Each mufassir has his own tendencies in interpreting the Quran. This tendency depends on the discipline of knowledge mastered, scientific research, experience, social conditions, politics, and so on. So the background of scholars, politicians, and expertise in history that K.H. Maimoen Zubair certainly also influenced his interpretations in the book Safinatu Kalla Saya'lamun fi Tafsir Syaikhina Maimun. One of the reasons behind this research is a style of interpretation that is not necessarily imagined by other interpreters. Then the book of tafseer Safinatu Kalla Saya'lamun fi Tafsir Syaikhina Maimun by Muhammad Ismail Al-Ascholy was chosen as the main source because it was felt to be important for preserving the tafseer of the Quran from Indonesian ulama. Therefore, the author wishes to examine the interpretation style of K.H. Maimoen Zubair in the book Safinatu Kalla Saya'lamu fi Tafsir Syaikhina Maimun. This type of research is literature with a qualitative descriptive analysis. Meanwhile, the analysis method in this research uses descriptive analysis carried out using content analysis. With these methods and approaches, various interpretive patterns were found that colored the interpretation of K.H. Maimoen Zubair. The conclusions obtained from this research are the interpretation of K.H. Maimoen Zubair is intensely characterized by ijtimā'i. However, there are also many styles of ijtimā'i that are combined with other styles of interpretation. In other words, K.H Maimoen Zubair will place special emphasis on the interpretation of certain verses such as legal verses, Sufism verses, scientific verses, ijtimā'i verses with social nuances. Apart from that, many of the interpretations found in this book are interpretations of K.H. Maimoen Zubair relates to verses containing historical values of previous peoples and the people of the Prophet Muhammad, which are then given historical descriptions and adapted to the current social context of society.
