Abstract

Communication in examining pregnant women or antenatal care is an interaction between pregnant women and health workers, where in this communication important information related to the condition of pregnancy is obtained as an effort to prevent and control of maternal death. This research is to analyze communication in antenatal care examinations at the Karanggede Community Health Center. This type of research is qualitative with a case study research design, namely looking at the perspectives of pregnant women and midwives in communicating antenatal care examinations. The number of research respondents was 8 people using a purposive sampling technique. Using research instruments in the form of interview and observation guidelines. The results of the examination research carried out at the Karanggede Community Health Center were in accordance with the applicable SOP, the communication carried out between midwives and pregnant women was effective and there was ease in communication, namely self-confidence and confidence in the examination and no obstacles were found in the communication process. Based on these results, it is hoped that pregnant women and midwives can increase their self-confidence and confidence in the antenatal care examinations they carry out.
