Abstract

The process of approaching parents and children is called parenting. Parenting patterns are divided into 3 types one of which is authoritarian. Authoritarian parenting certainly has an impact on children. This research aims to find out the picture of the power dynamics of teenagers who are raised in an authoritarian manner, the factors that influence and the impact of authoritarian parenting. This research is a qualitative research that uses descriptive analysis with teenage informants aged 12-19 who were raised in an authoritarian manner. The selection of informants used the Purposive Sampling Technique. The results of this research show that teenagers who are raised in an authoritarian manner have high fighting power, this can be seen from the way the informants solve problems. In the relationship between parents and children, they should communicate more frequently so that they can understand what is needed and what is desired from both parents and children.
