Abstract

Islamic philanthropic education is an effort to humanize humans through a character building process that has a positive impact on a person's emotional, spiritual and personality development through example and advice given by teachers to students. The author's main focus in this discussion is Islamic philanthropic education in schools (case study of Al-Irsyad Surakarta Middle School). The aim of this research is to describe the strategy and implementation of Islamic philanthropy education at Al-Irsyad SMP Surakarta. This research uses a qualitative field research method. The data collection methods used were interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis method involves data reduction, data presentation, and ending with conclusions. The findings from this research are that there are three strategies for Islamic Philanthropy education at Al-Irsyad Surakarta Middle School, namely teachers provide habituation, advice and example regarding the importance of caring for others. The implementation of Islamic Philanthropy education in schools is regular Dhuha prayer and infaq, getting used to helping friends and other people, social service activities.
