Abstract
Overseas students are students who study at tertiary institutions outside their area of origin and live for some time in other areas. Overseas students must make adjustments to the area where they will be overseas. Factors that influence student self-adjustment are self-efficacy and social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and social support with self-adjustment in overseas students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach using statistical methods multiple linear regression techniques. The population in this study were overseas students of the Faculty of Psychology with the criteria of active students at the Surakarta Muhammadiyah University Classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 coming from outside the Surakarta Residency. Sampling used purposive sampling technique with the number of samples used were 150 students. The analysis technique in this study was multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS 25 Statistics. To obtain data, researchers used 3 scales, namely self-efficacy, social support efficacy and self-adjustment. The research results obtained showed that there was a very significant relationship between self-efficacy and social support with the self-adjustment of overseas students at the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta with an R value = 0.941 and a sig value (0.000). There is a very significant positive relationship between efficacy and self-adjustment in overseas students with a value of r = 0.682 and a sig value (0.000). There is a very significant positive relationship between self-social support and self-adjustment in overseas students with a value of r = 0.931 and a sig (0.000) value.
