Abstract

Photovoltaic Solar Power Plants (PLTS) are electricity generation systems that originate from solar radiation through the conversion of photovoltaic cells. The higher the intensity of solar radiation, the greater the electrical power it produces. The environment where the solar panels are installed will affect the performance of the solar panels, some of these effects include the first, namely decreasing efficiency, pollutants such as dust or other dirt can cover the surface of the solar panels which can reduce the number of solar cells that can be captured by the PV itself. The next impact is reducing the lifespan of the solar panels, if pollutants attached to the solar panels are not cleaned this will cause damage to the solar cells themselves and ultimately reduce the lifespan of the solar panels. If the environment is exposed to high levels of pollutants, this will affect the ability of the solar panels to function optimally. Furthermore, research has been carried out directly in the field by carrying out tests 6 times with 3 types of conditions. For the first condition, namely that the surface of the solar panel is clean, then the surface of the solar panel is exposed to dust with a volume of 5g and the last is that the solar panel is exposed to dust with a volume of 10g. This research has tested the performance of each solar panel on 3 (three) solar panel surface conditions with a testing time of 6 hours/day for 3 days. Based on the measurement values, the condition of solar panels that are clean gets the highest average power with a value of 9,25 watts, and also solar panels that are covered in dust with a volume of 10g get the lowest average power value with a value obtained of 7.72 watts..
