Abstract

Covid-19 causes a response of anxiety, excessive fear and increases vigilance towards people affected by Covid-19 which is not balanced with feelings of empathy and sympathy. even social stigma. This research aims to: To find out the picture of community stigma on Covid-19 survivors when exposed to Covid-19 in Jatikuwung Village, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency and to describe what stigma the community carries towards people when they are exposed to Covid-19 in Jatikuwung Village, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency and to determine the percentage of people affected by Covid-19 based on demographics. This research is quantitative cross sectional, carried out in May-June 2022. The research population is Covid-19 survivors in Gondangrejo Karanganyar village in 2021, a population of 91 people. The sample was 91 people. Sampling technique total sampling. Data collection techniques using questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using univariate statistical tests. The results of the analysis obtained: Stigma was formed due to fear and anxiety about the dangers and risks of Covid-19. The form of stigma received by people affected by Covid in Jatikuwung Village was being ostracized, being given the nickname of being a virus carrier (Stereotype), being shunned and being given a bad opinion. Community factors provide stigma or people affected by Covid are stigmatized because of knowledge, perception and age. The percentage of people affected by Covid-19 in Jatikuwung village who experienced negative stigma was 34.1% (31 respondents). The majority of people affected by Covid-19 who are stigmatized are women, 18 respondents (19.8%). The majority of the types of work that received stigma were private employees, 11 respondents (12.1%). Advice for people affected by Covid-19 is to follow the government's recommendations to control stress by diverting themselves to enjoyable activities, taking a sincere spiritual and religious approach and always praying for the best. For citizens to care about people affected by COVID-19, control negative thoughts obtained from social media content that contains things that are threatening or oppressive. For health workers and local officials to anticipate the community so that they do not carry out bullying which causes stigma to people affected by Covid-19. Providing moral and spiritual support to Covid-19 survivors
