Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the pattern of vulnerability in Women Heads of Families (PEKKA) in Nusukan Village, (2) determine the socioeconomic characteristics of households in Women Heads of Families in Nusukan Village, (3) to find out what efforts are made in empowering Women Heads of Families (PEKKA) in Nusukan Village. This research is qualitative research using a research sample of 112 respondents from 12 selected RWs in Nusukan Village. Data collection using primary data through questionnaires. Data calculation using the Delphi Method to determine vulnerability categories. The results of this study show that most (49.11%) PEKKA in Nusukan Village are categorized as vulnerable and have high vulnerability. Where the vulnerability profile is dominated by people over 60 years old with an average high school / vocational education, and have a family member of more than 3 people. Meanwhile, most PEKKA with high vulnerability status do not work and have debt for working capital and meet daily needs. The empowerment of PEKKA in Nusukan Village has been running accompanied by the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection as well as Population Control and Family Planning (DP3AP2KB) and the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) of Surakarta City.
