Abstract

Bharada Richard Eliezer was convicted for his participation in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat and received a prison sentence of 1 year and 6 months as a Justice Collaborator. This study examines the role and protection of Bharada Richard Eliezer as a Justice Collaborator in decision number 798/Pid.B/2022/PN. Jkt. Sel. The research method used is normative juridical. The findings reveal that Bharada Richard Eliezer's role in the murder case proceeded smoothly from the investigation stage to the court decision stage. As a perpetrator witness or Justice Collaborator, Bharada Richard Eliezer receives protection and special handling from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). From an Islamic law perspective, the role of a Justice Collaborator can be viewed as criminal leniency and as testimony. Overall, this research sheds light on the involvement and protection of Bharada Richard Eliezer as a Justice Collaborator in the murder case, both from a legal and Islamic law perspective.
