Abstract
The change in land use is essentially unavoidable in the implementation and development of urban areas. The limitation of available land in urban regions results in the city expanding physically towards its outskirts, for example South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency. Hence, there is a need for an analysis related to land changes using spatial data to identify locations where land changes occur. This research aims to 1) Analyze the distribution and extent of land use in the South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency in 2017 and 2022, 2) Analyze the changes in land use that occurred in the South Tambun District, Bekasi Regency between 2017 and 2022. The research utilizes Planetscope imagery with on-screen image interpretation or digitization and field surveys. The field survey resulted in a good overall accuracy of 94.87%. The findings indicate a significant change in land use over the 5-year period from 2017 to 2022. The increasing land use includes Urban Settlements by 226.98 hectares (11.21%) and Industry, Commerce, and Offices by 33.6 hectares (10.41%). Meanwhile, the decreasing land use consists of Paddy Fields by 125.84 hectares (21.99%), Open Land by 71.69 hectares (21.14%), and Gardens and Mixed Crops by 68.54 hectares (9.16%).
