Abstract

SMK PGRI Sukoharjo, a private Vocational High School located in Bendosari sub-district, Sukoharjo, Central Java, has library facilities as a reference unit for teachers and students. Even though this library provides various categories of books, including textbooks, the textbook lending system has not yet achieved optimal performance. The process of borrowing textbooks is still done manually using ledgers and handwritten systems, resulting in long data processing times, hampering the performance of library staff, and increasing the risk of data loss or damage. By identifying these problems, the researcher designed a Web-Based Package Book Borrowing Information System at the PGRI Sukoharjo Vocational School Library. The aim of this design is to optimize time management in data processing, improve the performance of library staff, and reduce the risk of data loss or damage. This system design uses the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with a waterfall model. The information system was built using the PHP programming language with the CodeIgniter framework as the programming framework. System testing is carried out using the black box method to ensure that the system functions as expected. In addition, a questionnaire using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method is used as a measure of efficiency and ability to interact without difficulties or errors. It is hoped that the results of this research will be successful in optimizing time management in data processing, improving the performance of library staff, and reducing the risk of data loss or damage so that data can be managed well. System testing shows that the functionality operates as desired, and evaluation results using the System Usability Scale (SUS) show an average score of 91.
